NRP 66 intensifies dialogue with practitioners
About a year before the research phase of NRP 66 comes to an end, knowledge transfer activities are becoming increasingly important. In the next few months, the four dialogue platforms will offer a range of opportunities for exchanges between scientists, businesses, politicians and federal and cantonal offices.

Transforming a product idea into a market product
"From idea to market": this is the slogan of a workshop hosted by the S-WIN network, the competence centre SCCER BIOSWEET and NRP 66 on 10 September. The workshop gave participants a better understanding of the challenges of wood-based innovation in the construction, materials and energy markets.
Searching for novel and sustainable panel materials
What is still hampering the marketing of light bio-based furniture panels, or the use of extracted tannins to produce innovative wood-based materials? Researchers from Bern University of Applied Sciences discussed these and other questions with industry experts at an NRP 66 workshop in late September.
Looking back on the 7th WoodWisdom-Net Research Programme Seminar
Featuring short talks on 23 ongoing international research projects as well as important contributions from higher education institutions, industry and federal and cantonal offices, the seminar on 14/15 September 2015 addressed a host of new topics and insights for the forest/wood value chain.
SZF 5/2015: Provisioning and sustainable use of wood
Issue 5/2015 of the Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Forstwesen [Swiss forestry magazine] focuses on the NRP 66 dialogue field "Provisioning and sustainable use of wood" presenting some preliminary findings of the research programme.

   Life-cycle assessment discussion forum on wood resources at ETH Zurich

The 60th LCA discussion forum, on 4 December in Zurich, will focus on environmentally friendly ways of using wood. Stefanie Hellweg and her team of researchers from NRP 66 will be presenting the results of their research project on the life-cycle management of wood in Switzerland.

   Workshop on the economic valuation of forest ecosystem services

The workshop organised by the Geneva University of Applied Sciences (HEG-GE) and the University of Neuchâtel aims at reviewing and discussing methods, results and policy implications of the economic valuation of forest functions in industrialised countries.
